Website & app developed with navigation and consistency in mind

Brief:

China Guardian is a premiere auction house that specialises in Chinese antiques and art, with operations across Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and North America. As a wholly owned subsidiary of China Guardian Auctions, China Guardian (HK) Auctions boasts an elite international team of professionals for one of the most important cities in the international art market.

We helped China Guardian (HK) Auctions design and develop their website as well as an app (for both Android and iOS smartphones) to accomplish a larger reach of users and to add convenience. The art direction was made to closely resemble the style of Chinese antiques and art. We took into consideration the information architecture (IA) to reflect on what types of users there were and the sort of information they would search for.

For the website, the front-end coding was done in HTML, CSS and JavaScript with a responsive web design (RWD). The back-end also includes a content management system (CMS) to allow China Guardian (HK) Auctions to easily maintain their content. As for the smartphone app, further enhancements have been made to make it even easier for users to browse product catalogues and to save them for offline viewing. The app provides their target audience a user-friendly UI to search auction items by their lot numbers and to see frequently updated info, which wouldn't be possible through printed materials.
