Harbour Plaza Hotels & Resorts Website Revamp & CMS Development
Enhancing brand image for one of Hong Kong's top hotel chains (4 hotel brands with totally 13 hotels & Shanghai, with more then 9700 guest rooms)
Harbour Plaza Hotels and Resorts is a member of CK Asset Group (HKSE: 1113), which manages 13 hotels in Hong Kong, with more than 8,500 guest rooms, suites and serviced suites. The hotel group is a key player in the Asian hospitality industry and has received the Best Local Hotel Chain by TTG Travel Awards for ten consecutive years since 2010.
We were privileged to be entrusted with the responsibility of revamping 11 websites across the Group and individual hotels of Harbour Grand, Harbour Plaza and Rambler Hotels - 3 of the 4 hotel brands that operate under the Harbour Plaza Group. While the Group focuses its operation in Hong Kong, each of the hotel brands creates a different experience targeting different segments of customers.
We identified this opportunity to update these styles to promote a stronger brand awareness both for these hotels and the Group itself while designing these websites. For example, we have used a darker colour scheme of bronze gold and black for the two Harbour Grand hotels, luxury grade hotels for discerning travelers; while deploying some light shades of turquoise and purple for the two Rambler Hotels, which provide travellers with a comfortable stay at affordable prices. We would like to maintain a considerable level of consistency in terms of layout to strengthen the overall Group brand awareness, and at the same time spotlighting the differences between brands targeting different customer segments by varying brand elements.
To manage the Harbour Plaza corporate website and websites of 10 hotels, we built a centralised Content Management System (CMS) by a popular development framework, Laravel. It does not only speed up the development lifecycle but also provides us with a rapid and steady platform on pre-generating website content files.
