Brief:

Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) is a private company jointly owned by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB). HKICL provides interbank clearing and settlement services to all banks in Hong Kong and operates a central clearing and settlement system for public and private debt securities on behalf of the HKMA. In 2018, they introduced a payment financial infrastructure, The Faster Payment System (FPS), which enables instant payments in Hong Kong, provides consumers and merchants a safe, efficient and widely accessible retail payment service on a 24/7 basis.

This website revamp project has its purpose in re-branding and status positioning. FPS is a brand-new payment financial infrastructure that need to be emphasized among all sections. To introduce this new system to HK consumers, information shared in that page ought to be clear, focus and info-graphical, which helps to understand the usage and advantage of using FPS directly. With large volume of product and service information and high-security standard required, we considered much on the information architecture (IA) of the existing website, and as well the security issue. So as to balance the professional image and an informative and user-friendly website, the overall tone and manner of the website is clean, clear and professional. The use of blue and white with different content base layout created a simple but iconic and professional image of HKICL.

A comprehensive design should be able to apply in various devices to enhance the user-experience (UX) and accessibility. The HKICL website was therefore created with a Responsive Web Design (RWD) to cater desktop, tablet and mobile users, to as well optimize the mobile device performance and interactive experience across devices and adhered to the World Wide Web Consortium, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (W3C WCAG) 2.0 Level AA standard. Besides, the security requirement and standard of the overall website setting is high and we have been catering this very carefully.
